I’m Neely, and I am what you call a bona fide “Lubbockite”. Born and raised here in the Hub City, and proud of it. I mean, have you ever experienced a Lubbock sunset? Exactly. What about the chill of a West Texas breeze on a hot summer night? Nothing like it. And, if you haven’t ever been here for a haboob and felt what it was like to have dirt in your teeth and tumbleweed remnants in your hair, then you clearly are not living your best life. In other words, I just love this place that I call home. Even though some days it blows. Pun intended.
I’ve been married to my husband, Brandon for eleven plus years. Together, we have three kids. Finley (5), Wylie (3) and Auggie (1). They are the lights of our lives and at times the cray in our cray-cray. We have come to the realization that we are outnumbered and will never win. However, we will have fun doing it.
Brandon and I also run our own multi-media marketing & production company called Rawe Yates Media Group where we specialize in assisting clients with all of their advertising as well as video and audio production needs. And, while we try to keep it business as usual, don’t be surprised if you come to our office and find smudgy handprints from our three-year-old on the front door or a secret stash of pacifiers for the baby sitting in a coffee mug on my desk. This is where we are in life. And, we are not ashamed. We do, however, strive for perfection when it comes to our clients and have loved owning a business here in Lubbock. The support has been overwhelming and we feel so blessed to be able to make a living by doing something that we are passionate about in a town that we are passionate about.
Pre-kids my hobbies included going out and hearing live music. I worked in radio as a midday host for many years here in the Lubbock market and even helped launch a “Texas Country” station. I still am a huge fan of the Lubbock music scene and have a heartfelt love for Texas music. In fact, in my pre-mama days, you could find me at the Blue Light almost every night supporting my favorite songwriters and musicians. The Lubbock music scene remains one of my favorite things about this town even though I don’t get to enjoy it as much as I used to.
These days I’ve traded in my studded cowgirl boots for cozy socks and my hobbies include trips alone to the bathroom, eating m&ms from the secret stash in my closet and if I stay up past 10pm, it’s because Dateline was THAT good, and I can’t stop thinking about it.
The single thing I love most in this life though is being a mom and wife. Finley, Wylie and Auggie’s mom. And, Brandon’s wife. And, getting to do it all in my good ole hometown of Lubbock, Texas. It’s always an adventure, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
